Join the York Cares 20th Annivesary Strava Challenge!

We’re celebrating 20 years of making a difference in York, and we want YOU to be part of the celebration! From 28 January to 17 February, we’re inviting you to lace up your trainers, embrace the outdoors, and join our 20th Anniversary Strava Challenge.

It’s the perfect way to kick-start the year with a focus on well-being, while also supporting our mission to create a better York. Research shows that even 20 minutes of exercise can improve your mood, reduce stress, and boost overall health – what better reason to get moving?

How to Get Involved:
  1. Download Strava (or a similar app) and create or sign into your account.
  2. Plan your route – bonus points if you can make it heart-shaped, or you can follow our heart shaped route! ❤️
  3. Run or walk for 20 minutes and snap a photo of a heart-shaped object or view you spot along the way.
  4. Share your journey on social media, tagging York Cares, or email your picture to info@yorkcares.co.uk.
  5. Donate £2 to our JustGiving page and encourage a friend to join you.

Every step you take helps us raise vital funds to support York Cares’ programmes, from improving green spaces and tackling loneliness and social isolation to raising aspirations for young people.

Why Take Part?

Not only does the Strava Challenge encourage physical activity, but it’s also a way to show your support for York Cares. By participating, you’re directly contributing to our work and helping us continue to make an impact for the next 20 years. Plus, it’s a chance to connect with others in the community, enjoy some fresh air, and feel the satisfaction of doing good – both for your health and for the city we all love.

Let’s make this milestone year one to remember. Join us, get active, and help make York a better place for everyone.
